Postcard mailart/zine project of note: Sugaryzine #1

Nadya is a fellow music fan and tumblr friend I have got to know over the past 7 months. She has been working on a postcard zine project in Nov/Dec that has resulted in the creation of the first issue of Sugaryzine. There are a couple of photos included of the postcard Nadya sent to me titled "I heard you like postcards", where I had placed the hand made and beautifully illustrated project card in a sea of other cards I have received over the years. I guess that makes me a contributor to the zine of sorts!

The postcard zine project is best described in a nutshell by the creator and illustrator:

To cut a long story short, i sent a diy postcard to people who wanted it. They received the postcard weeks later, they took a picture of them with the postcard or just the postcard alone. They sent the photos to me via email, i compile them photos into a zine. and voila! Sugaryzine #1 : Nothing Beats The Excitement of Receiving Postcard in the Mail.

Between Christmas and New Year

I am not really sure what they call these few days after the fattening festivities of Christmas and before the juxtaposed nostalgic and re-birthing time of year they call New Year. Some have to work, others rest and a lucky few are still partying on through to 2010. I planned to use this time to get all my affairs in order. Sadly, this has not seen full reality yet.

One thing I did in the last month was sign up again to Postcrossing. I have a new account with the intention to also swap postcards in pre-organised Postcrossing swaps and also taking a few private swap requests (money permitting).

Christmas Eve

It is the evening of Christmas Eve and I still have to finish decorating the Christmas cake and wrap a couple more presents.

Taking some time out to wish you all a Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it and an enjoyable Friday for those who don't.
